CORA is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating sustainable programs to help solve global issues centered on hunger, poverty, inequality, climate change and the mission to #BeatPlasticPollution.
At the heart of what we do are our amazing volunteers that make everyday miracles possible. We provide opportunities for sustainable, accessible and community-based projects that passionate volunteers can proudly use a platform to create change via direct action. We also have special projects in partnership with the United Nations, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), youth organizations, the private sector, along with other NGOs and local communities.
A huge part of our mission is to create awareness and ignite action about the 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” by bringing the SDGs to every classroom in the country. By empowering our youth, together we can achieve “The Global Goals” by the year 2030, and create a better world for all without leaving anyone behind.
There are enough resources on the planet for every single human being, but not enough effective and sustainable means of distribution for those that need them the most. Of the 4 billion tonnes of food we produce each year, one third is wasted, costing the global economy nearly $750 billion annually and resulting in massive greenhouse gas emissions. Today, hunger is a question of economic access, rather than a lack of food availability. By working together, we can end hunger by 2030 and guarantee a healthy world for everyone.
CORA Cares is focused on humanitarian efforts that allow volunteers to actively participate in programs that are centered on addressing the needs of children such as malnutrition, education and climate change. We engage volunteers across the Philippines in a monthly feeding program called #HashtagLunchbagPH wherein volunteers are given a platform to take part in activities that help provide food and supplies to underprivileged children, addressing the issue of hunger, while helping the environment by rescuing food products that would have otherwise gone to waste or thrown away.
The mission is simple: help end hunger, spread love, and inspire others to join the movement, or use their inner power to start their own journey towards making the world a better place for all.
Planet CORA is dedicated to protecting #LifeBelowWater and #LifeOnLand, and empowering everyone to take aggressive #ClimateAction for the future of our youth. Our mission is focused on environmental education plus action, including coastal clean-ups, tree planting activities, water rehabilitation programs, solid waste management, school tours, conventions, events for a cause, and so much more.
In 2018, together with UN Environment, UNDP Philippines and the DENR, CORA launched #CleanSeasPilipinas. The program, which is part of the UN Environment #CleanSeas global campaign, aims to engage governments, the general public, civil society, and the private sector in the fight against marine plastic pollution.
The Clean Seas Pilipinas program aims to achieve a better future for all by creating sustainable schools and communities that are able to utilize effective recycling methods as a tool for financial aid and support. Planet CORA helps uplift local communities with the development more inclusive and sustainable solutions to waste management. Via incentivized partnerships between schools, civil society, junk shops and recyclers, and by working together, we can develop better economic opportunities for marginalized groups in the Philippines, provide scholarships for children without an education, and most importantly, promote circular community development.
Don’t let the threat of plastic pollution destroy our seas. Every steward you mobilize means protecting our coastal communities’ livelihood. Together we can help empower marginalized communities, while saving the planet one recyclable item at a time.
